I must say though, the Denali Cream Puffs at th fair are to die for. And the elephant ears omg......... Amy has a picture of our elephant ear I'm sure she will post in a day or two. Oh yeah, Wes had his first carousel ride too.
Headed to Las Vegas at 730am tomorrow. Kevin and Tracy are meeting us there. It will be great to see them. Ive missed them and I am going to need all the help I can get to find Elvis. I got a glimpse of him last time i was in LV, but he escaped.
We said goodbye to the r v this morning-our home for last twelve days. We visited downtown anchorage and then went to the state fair in Palmer. The people there sure make you feel good about yourself.

Byron Glacier
We found this carved into a Tree. We did not do the carving.

Huge chunk of Ice.

On the hike up. We are so proud of Iva for sticking it out!

I forgot to tell you that we (less Robby) hiked up to a glacier. It was incredible. We got to touch it and smell it. It was cold and it stunk but it was beautiful. Amy will post some pictures later. I am so glad I have been working out some or I wouldn't have made it,.
We also explored an old gold mining town today. I love ghost towns and this one was awesome. Independence Mine.
I finally did it. I ODed on mocha latte. That quad shot pushed me over the top. Not only do i have heartburn from hell I dont think I will ever sleep again.
We stayed outside of Palmer last night in a RV/mechanic shop/goat farm. I swear I heard dualing banjo's. We had our last campfire. :-<. In order to cheer ourselves up we had pizza delivered by a pizza delivery/ taxi/fedex/vet. Haha, just kidding.

People here have float planes like we have second cars. They are everywhere.
Whittier is beautiful but takes about two minutes to tour, so its back to the tunnel and on to Palmer. Oh, i did have a calamari sandwich that was outstanding and some rhubarb pie that was great. What does that say about me? I judge everything by the food. Hehe
On the road again. This time to Whittier, hopefully for some sea kayaking. More later....
We had a great day on the river. Of course Amy caught the biggest and most fish but Dad and I did alright as well. Amy tried salmon but will stick to steak.
Cal, Amy, and Robby went fishing today and Amy smoked them both. YEA!! A victory for all woman kind.
Wes and i stayed in camp today while the others floated down the Kenai river and fished. Man o Man I forgot how good Thomas the Train really is!

Halibut and Cod

Seward

Robby and Cal had a great fishing experience. We are shipping about 40lbs of halibut home. They are going to try and grill a couple of pieces tonight for dinner. While they were out fishing Iva, Wes, and I took a self guided walking tour of downtown Seward. We visited the Sea Life Center where we met the cutest Sea Lion. I think he was a dog in another life. He was giant and had a rope toy that he tossed around and played with. We did a little shopping and bought some great local deserts. It was a great day! Wes met some new friends at the local park. He went around hugging every kid that would let him! Rain is in the forcast for the rest of the week but we will make the best of it. We are heading to the Russian River in the morning for more fishing. Bears are spotted all the time in that area so we will keep our eyes open and try and get some good pictures!

Love,
Amy
Robby & Cal are taking a charter in Prince Wm sound 2morrow hoping for a couple of huge halibut. Amy, Wes, & I are exploring Seward. We just can't do 12 hrs on a boat. :o( . Good luck boys, but if you catch em you clean em!
